Black soybeans (soya beans), roasted and salted, are a light and low-calorie snack. Our black soybeans are roasted without fat and are high in protein and fibre. With their crunchy bite and slightly nutty flavour, these soybeans are ideal as a salad topping and are also delicious in soups and stews.

Soybeans (soya beans) belong to the papilionaceous family and are therefore legumes. The plant bears white to pale purple flowers from which the finely hairy, two to ten centimetre long pulses develop. They contain the smooth, brown, yellowish, green or black-violet soya beans.
Soybeans are one of the oldest cultivated plants in the world and originally come from China. Soya is now grown not only in Asia, but also in the USA, South America and Europe. The beans have a very high protein content and contain many essential amino acids that humans need to build up the body's own protein. Soya beans also contain vitamins B1, B2 and E, as well as iron and magnesium.
