The “queen of the medicinal plants”, as the Aloe Vera, the lily of the desert, is often referred to, has been very popular in natural medicine and cosmetics for a long time. As early as 6000 years ago, in ancient Egypt, it was said the plant would bring eternal beauty, health and immortality. Thanks to its valuable ingredients, Aloe Vera also gains popularity as a food supplement.

Only in the last few decades, scientific research of the Aloe Vera really kicked in. Modern analyses show that this plant, at home in subtropical and tropical regions, contains more than 300 ingredients mainly found in the marrow of the Aloe Vera leaves, which are up to 50 cm long and arranged around a short stem. These ingredients include many vitamins, mineral nutrients and micronutrients as well as amino acids. However, the special characteristics of the Aloe Vera are not the individual effects of each single ingredient but the synergy effect by the interaction of all of them.
